Next week, the University of Alabama’s women’s basketball team will join the other members of the SEC for the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament, which is to be held in Greenville, South Carolina.
Recently named one of the Top 52 Places to Go in 2017 by the New York Times, the city hopes to provide a variety of attractions for its incoming guests. The Times claims that Greenville has over 120 locally owned restaurants, boutiques, museums and parks, as well as a free trolley and 70-plus works of art around the city for any interested.
Taryn Sher, a Public Relations spokesperson for the city of Greenville, said, “The arena where our kids played, that arena is less than a third of a mile from kind of our center of activities. So in a lot of the major cities, often times the convention center or the arena that hosts these activities is kind of off the beating path, and that’s not the case for us.”
As for any fans who will be going to the event, there will be no shortage of activities in between game times.
