SMOKED SAUSAGE DOGS

6 – 8 Smoked Sausages (brats can be used)

1 can of beer (of your choice)

2 cans chicken broth

2 large onions thinly sliced

2 large bell peppers thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic chopped

Butter or olive oil

Block Provolone or Monterrey Jack cheese

Mustards of your choice

Large buns of your choice (Hoagie OR oversized hot dog buns)

Bring the beer and the chicken broth to a simmer.  Add sausages or brats. Simmer for approx. 20 minutes. Sauté the peppers and onions in 1 tbsp. butter or olive oil. Grate the Provolone or Monterrey Jack cheese.

Remove the sausages from the simmer.   Grill on low heat for approx. 3-5 minutes.

To construct, add mustard directly to the bun.  Then add the sausage to the bun, top with peppers and onion and the grated cheese.  Enjoy!!
