Tenth-ranked Alabama hosted North Florida at Rhoads Stadium on Wednesday hoping to redeem themselves from a two loss streak, after initially opening the season with seven straight wins. The Tide was able to shift their momentum in a 2-0 victory over the Ospreys.
The teams went scoreless until the second inning when sophomore Caroline Hardy slams her first home run of the year deep to the left to put Bama on the board.
Making sure to strike while still hot, freshman Bailey Hemphill takes hold of an opportunity driving the ball over the center fielder’s head for a triple while bringing home fellow freshman Elissa Brown to put the Tide up 2-0.
After a valiant start from senior Sydney Littlejohn, junior Alexis Osorio came in for relief after five innings striking out all five batters that she faced to take the victory with two runs scored.
The Crimson Tide softball team will play a double header on Friday, February 24th against the University of Central Florida and Texas Tech University at home.
