WVUA 23 is a great place to get hands-on experience and to figure out if television news is the right field for you! At WVUA 23, interns are an integral part of what we do. We are owned by the University of Alabama and located in Bryant-Denny stadium. Some of our interns receive school credit, but this is not required. No prior experience is required to intern with WVUA 23, but experience may help you to get accepted into our program more quickly. Once you join the WVUA 23 intern program, the sky is the limit! Our most experienced interns perform the same duties as our professional reporters and producers. Skill level and dedication determines each individual’s rate of progress, and our professional staff members serve as the “coaches” for our interns. All interns join our program as unpaid volunteers. If you qualify for Work Study at the University of Alabama, we may be able to allow you to complete your Work Study at WVUA 23. Different departments within WVUA 23 have specific requirements for their internship application process. It is perfectly fine to apply to more than one department. Make sure you follow the specific guidelines on the application below.
